Job Description:
One of the nation's foremost distributors of crop protection and crop production inputs and services for agricultural, turf & ornamental, forestry, aquatics and vegetation management markets looking for a Software Engineer.
1. Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility to design within time and cost constraints.
2. Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
3. Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
4. Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation using Windows OS, Visual Studio 2010, VB, C#, SQL Server, Java, HTML, and XML.
5. Provides technical assistance to resolve customer complaints with software regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
6. Coordinates installation of .NET, XML, libraries or any programs related to application software.
7. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
8. Consults with other IT areas to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs.
9. Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field and eight plus years related work experience.
2. Strong working knowledge of Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server, Oracle, XML, Java, Oracle Web Server and/or IBM Webshpere, HTML, DLLs, and routing protocols.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills.
4. Good customer service skills.
5. Good problem solving skills.
6. Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks.
7. IBM MQ series, IBM Websphere Message Broker, Oracle Web development background and .Net experience a plus.
