Gerdau is currently seeking a Rebar Estimator for its location in Collierville, TN (Memphis area).

Basic Function:
Perform duties pertaining primarily to estimating the quantity, size and type of concrete reinforcing steel and related products for construction projects in accordance with customer plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:
The Rebar Estimator's primary responsibility is for an accurate estimate of required concrete reinforcing steel bars and related accessory products for specific construction projects.
Prepares quantity and material take-off from customer's plans, specifications, instructions and other available data to determine quote information.
Consult with sales representatives, customers, contractors, architects and engineers as necessary to ensure complete understanding of job requirements. Break job down into appropriate workable components and visualize standard details not covered by data furnished. Prepare change order requests and revise estimates accordingly.
Occasionally, the Rebar Estimator may be required to calculate complex dimensions and technical specifications to develop and prepare detail placement drawings, weigh material, extend and price for small jobs to expedite information to preferred customers.
Small percentage of travel for an occasional job site visit, internal meetings or training.
To summarize, the Estimator is responsible for accurate and timely estimates, and ensuring completeness including easy-to-follow breakdowns correlated to the probable detailing sequence.

Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree required (Engineering or Construction majors preferred).
Minimum of 2 years experience in the construction or related industry doing estimating (rebar, concrete or other construction materials) or rebar detailing.
Intermediate level experience with MS-Office; experience with CAD, MicroStation and/or aSa a plus.
Self motivated, outgoing and well-organized.
