Telerhythmics Cardiac Monitoring is a Digirad Company and provides ambulatory diagnostic cardiac monitoring nation-wide. We are currently searching for a Billing Specialist to work at our office in Collierville, TN.
Summary of Duties: Responsible for collecting, posting and managing account payments. Responsible for submitting claims, following up with insurance companies and the Accounts Receivable function.
Essential Functions:1. Prepares and submits verified claims to various insurance companies either electronically or in hard copy format.
2. Answers questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies.
3. Identifies and resolves patient billing requirements.
4. Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements.
5. Ability to write effective appeals to insurance companies resulting in successfully turning claims around for payment.
6. Reviews accounts for possible assignment, makes recommendations to the Billing Manager and prepares information for outside collection agency.
7. Ability to obtain in-network and out-of-network benefits, pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals.
8. Performs various collection actions including contacting patietns by phone, correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers.
9. Ability to understand Explanation of Benefits and post payments.
10. Understands insurance requirements, deductibles, Co-pays, Co-insurance, and general insurance laws and requirements.
11. Conducts self in a professional manner and all times and in accordance with Telerhythmics employee manual.
12. Maintains strictest confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED
1. Minimum of 2 years of Medical Billing experience
2. Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices
3. Knowledge of basic computer programs (word, excel etc)
4. Knowledge of business office procedures
5. Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
6. Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
7. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
8. Skilled in answering telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
9. Abilty to read, udnerstand and follow oral and written instructions.
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the general public.
11. Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Environment/Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business dictates.
Physical Demands:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. Responsibilities, skills and working conditions may change as needed.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
